True to its name, Desi Culture is everything Desi. At Desi Culture the Indian cuisine meets west without compromising on its ethnicity or taste. Another amazing resto-bar opened in the already bustling location of Kamala Mills. The restaurant is located in the middle of Bar Stock Exchange and Kaboom and is just 1.4 km away from the lower Parel Station, making the destination easily approachable.

The restaurant is set in the basement; the entrance lets you enter a fairy tale kind of setup. The décor is pleasant, well-lit, and eccentric.
The entire Resto Bar is divided into two huge sections; both leading to the bar counter and right next to it on the left is the live dessert counter. Chefs Kshama Prabhu and Gaurav Gidwani have given soul to the Indian fusion theme.
The place is predominantly made up of wood and has a nice collection of crockery décor.
The place has some fascinating liquids; Jaljeera Mojito :
It’s quite stimulating due to the presence of Fresh lime juice, it’s spicy and tangy because of Jaljeera and chat masala. This slush based drink can get tangy so ask the sweetness and tanginess according to your taste.
Shikanji Strawberry Mojito and Shikanji Kiwi Mojito:
Quite different and appealing at the same time, the taste stands out due to the presence of homemade spice (like Jeera, Chat, Coriander, etc), with fresh lime juice, sugar, and salt. The slush is blended together, depending on the season you get different fruit flavor Shikanji. If you order a cocktail, then Bacardi is the add on to make the perfect cocktail.
Lassi Shots:
One of the highlights of the evening, taste it to know it. From the right you have; Peach, Blue Berry, Kiwi, Strawberry, and Chocolate.
The Ice Cream Martini:
2-3 scoops of the selected flavor of ice creams like Strawberry, Chocolate, and Vanilla with a base of Vodka and flavor liqueur.
The trio of shots:
Each of the 3 flavors to give you options like Pan flavor with Vodka, Chocolate and Vodka, Strawberry, and rose with Vodka served with dry ice.
Minty Melon:
It’s a whiskey-based drink having fresh pulp of melon, with lime mint, a little bit of sugar, Mango Juice, and served with pour over ice.
Each of the signature chats, that we drool over is given a twist. So we called for some Desi-Chats like Hajmola Dahi Bhalla with Jaljeera Sorbet. A twist to the normal Dahi Bhalla chat. This one is quite tangy and unique, with enriched pickled beans and Jaljeera taste.
Red Velvet Dhokla – Just extraordinary!
In the form of a Dhokla, which looks like a pastry, it has jalapeno cream cheese and garnished with the tadka and served with Lassun (Garlic) and Imli Ki Chutney(Tamarind). They have some extraordinary and never heard before fusion.
Jalapeno Cheese Ragda Pattice:
Cheese form with Jalapeno is garnished on the normal Ragda pattice which is again stuff with cheese. Totally worth a try!
Sev Puri with Iced Anar & Aam Wafer:
It’s got Masala Lavash as the base, with normal Sev puri constructed and garnished. On one end you have two skewers of Chicken. It’s served with 3 different chutney’s in Jelly form; namely Lassun chutney, Imli ki Chutney, and Green Chutney.
Kasundi Fish Tikka:
One of the highlights of the evening with basic tandoori red marination. The dish is served only if they can procure fresh Ravas, else you won’t be able to taste it. Definitely a must-try for seafood lovers.
Resham Murgh Tikka:
It serves with an egg white masala soufflé on top. The chicken is succulent and tender and cooked perfectly.
Tandoori Veg Chat:
This chat has everything from Paneer, sweet potato, apple, to Pepper and Tomato. The veggies are spice with crush peppercorns.
Mutton Galouti Kebab:
The kebab is finely cooked and serves with a Shermal base. It’s totally a melt in your mouth feeling. Try to know what I mean.

Which basically gives you the street Chinese food taste at your disposal. The Thali has Date pancakes, Vegetable Wanton, Manchurian, hot garlic chicken, crispy veg, fried rice, fried noodles, and Sabudana Wafers, quite filling for one person.
Coming down to the end of the meal, we called for Chocolate Bon Bon:
It’s a volcano of chocolate including Chocolate Gelato, White Chocolate Mousse, Dark chocolate Belgium ice cream, Gems, Bourbon biscuit, bonbon ice cream, and dark chocolate Ganache. Totally a must-try.
