Pi Pizzeria – Hub for Authentic Pizza

A hectic day never seems hectic when there is some warm Pizza is waiting for you. So after a stressful day, I picked myself up and head to this pizza restaurant called Pi Pizzeria located in Khar, just about 5 mins walking distance away from Khar station. After all, who can say no to the authentic gourmet pizzas?

Pi Pizzeria pizza restaurant is minimalistic and can accommodate about 20-23 people. The décor is rustic, formal with dusty hues of brown and grey, more dominated by wooden texture and feel.

The dream and passion of Mr Akhil Thakkar and Mr Shaamil Amin have given birth to Pi Pizzeria and has brought the authentic Italian recipes and ingredients to India by giving us Pi Pizzeria in Khar. The second and the third outlet are going to open up in Kamala mills and Andheri by the year-end. So happy news to rejoice for people staying on the other two ends.

Now coming down to what all I tried, starting with some appetizers. The perfectly cooked dough is soft from the inside and little crunchy with the perfect golden look from the outside. This simple and classic traditional dish is totally a must-try.

Next on the plate was Garlic Bread with Mozzarella (Veg):

The Garlic bread is perfect, melting in your mouth. Contrary to the regular bread topped with garlic. Here they serve the delicious garlic paste as a dip so have as much as you like.

Button mushrooms the most consumed mushrooms in the US are made with the hint of Pesto. The mozzarella spread is just on point not less not much.

Finally, we moved on to what we were looking to try, their famous 10 inch Pizza’s. The crust is not thin not thick the kind that enhances your entire experience. The Pizza is cheesy with a rich topping of Onion, mushrooms and chicken having a great spread of Parmesan. Originality does make a difference in taste and appeal. Try to know.

The kind of Pizza you wouldn’t want to miss. The generous dose of toppings makes it truly a must-have, it’s topped with Roasted Peppers, Pesto and Onions. Try it to know it for sure.

A cheesy delight for all the people who like their Pizza to be a heaven for cheese, infused with 4 different cheese types like Mozzarella, Fontal, Parmesan and Feta, though this Italian pizza gets a little salty for the Indian palate due to the presence of all the cheese possible.

Now coming to the desserts we tried; Choco Lava Cake:

It’s a different kind that you would see, with one bite, the Choco lava lose out. The chocolate is thick and perfect. Strongly recommend.

Last for the evening we called was Cheesecake:

It was soft, fluffy, and smooth with a crunchy base, not very sweet and a heaven for cheesecake lovers.

Most of the pizza restaurant we visit nowadays are all about customization and fusion, to suit the palate of Indian and in the process, the authenticity is almost a concept of the past. Contrary to this Pi Pizzeria offers 10-inch authentic gourmet pizza’s to give you your personal size Pizza. Authenticity is not just said but practised and to retain the authenticity, ingredients also need to be authentic, and thus they import most of it like; Cheese comes from Denmark, Mushroom and Olives from Greece, Pesto from the UK, Tomatoes from Spain, Even the flour of the dough is imported from the UK, all this to give the perfect authentic taste possible.
